Grandma & Grandpa Hill

The original photo was discovered whilst the kitchen was being renovated. To the delighted surprise the photo was of their great grandparents (Grandpa & Grandma Hill). The house is the original house that was built by the couple on their Narrandera selection. The house was passed down through the generations, in which this painting will now be a family heirloom. This portrait was consigned by the grandson of the person pictured at the side of the log. The Jinker is an Australian invention. The axle is arched attached to a timber A frame. Once the Jinker is in place the A frame is dogged (winched) down to the log, lifting the front of the log off the ground.

Horse portraits on Hanes

The top horse is the stallion, the centre horse is the mare and the lower horse is the off spring which competed in dressage in the Barcelona Olympics.

Murray river story

This painting was done for a client that grew up in Moama, on the Murray River. The painting looks across the river to the old Echuca warf with an old steam boat and barge. Hidden from the bank is a euchy still which extracted the oil from eucalyptus trees and was a front to distill rum. On the bank a child is fishing, looking out for troopers. Cattle graze near the still and in the far distance is a shearing shed.

Bowtell homestead

This painting is the clients homestead where she grew up. the family no longer owns the property and not many photos. it was painted with the information that the client could give and researching the internet. The client was extremely happy with the completed work which was done on her fathers saw.
